FOOTBALL
Football offers K1- 6th Grade teams. We play in the CYFL, which has been in existence for over 20 years. Each player is fitted properly each year with the finest equipment available. We are a Lakota ONLY organization. Being the true feeder system for both Lakota East and Lakota West. You will see an abundance of Tomahawks on the sideline on Friday night. We have had a player in the NFL playoffs for the past 4 years. Superbowl champions in 2010 and 2011. Not to mention numerous players at all levels of the NCAA.
CHEERLEADING
For over 20 year the Lakota Tomahawks have been the place to be a cheerleader in Lakota. Girls can begin cheering in kindergarten and continue through 6th grade. Tomahawk cheerleaders learn dozens of new cheers every year. Squads learn and perform a half-time dance at every game, too. Games are played each weekend from mid August through early November. Cheerleaders attend an annual cheer clinic hosted by the Lakota East and West High School cheerleaders and coaching staff. Tomahawk cheerleaders also get to cheer during a high school football game every fall. Come join the fun of being a Tomahawk Cheerleader - We've Got SPIRIT!
COACHES
Our coaches are NYSCA certified. Each team is given a member number that allows parents to complete annonymous surveys on their team throughout the season. This valuable feedback gives the coach the opportunity to address any issues and make the experience as enjoyable as possible. All head coaches have went through a thorough inteveiw process and backgroud check. Most of our coaches have played the game from high school to the NFL. If you have a passion for game and the development of the youth's in our community, we are always looking for quality coaches.
Our goal is to teach our young people the fundamentals of football with a strong emphasis on integrity, respect, confidence and teamwork. Prepare our team to win by developing the skills of every player on the team. Teach the youths lessons on the field that will benefit them off the field and after the season has ended. We look to our players to excel at leadership, self-confidence, sportsmanship and friendship.
